Virtual ip|engines

Through its unique, virtual ip|engine capability, the Ipanema System can deliver its functions to sites that do not need physical ip|engines or client software. This means much lower acquisition and management costs when compared to competitor products that require installing hardware or software at every site – or even on every remote PC.

To manage these sites, virtual ip|engines are centrally configured in a deployed system. Virtual ip|engines are implemented through software agents that are instantiated on the system's physical ip|engines, which then cooperate together to perform the required system functions (site visibility, WAN optimization, WAN acceleration) on behalf of the virtual ip|engine sites.
