Product Line – a system with central software and distributed devices

Ipanema's Autonomic Networking System is comprised of both software and hardware components. Ipanema devices are called ip|engines. The main central management software is called the Ipanema Management Software Suite or IMSS. In addition to IMSS, the optional Export Software Suite  provides an interface with the company’s information systems.

The SALSA (Scalable Application Level Service Architecture) platform enables Telcos and Managed Service Providers to create unique, high value-added services based on their own offerings in combination with Ipanema devices and software.

Carrier class central management software and cooperative devices

The Ipanema System is resilient

  • Each Ipanema device includes a hardware failsafe
  • Self-healing capabilities ensures service continuity in case of Ipanema device failures

The Ipanema System is easy to manage

  • The Java or Web GUI provides an intuitive way of managing the system centrally
  • The Global CLI gives access to all functions and allows users to extend management at will
  • The Ipanema devices never require manual, site-by-site interaction from the user

The Ipanema System is transparent

  • IP transport technology agnostic (MPLS, Frame Relay, Leased Line, IP-Sec, …)
  • Operations are fully transparent to the network and the IT infrastructure
  • Ipanema devices are CoS compatible (will respect or implement TOS/DSCP marking)

The Ipanema System is easy to deploy

  • Supports asymmetric routing
  • Supports redundant router configurations
  • Supports Multi-VPN

The Ipanema System is secure

  • Communications among the central software and the Ipanema devices are encrypted
  • Data cached on the Ipanema devices is encrypted

The Ipanema System is easy to extend

  • The centralized management and modular approach allow the System to grow with evolving needs
  • The system itself demonstrates where and when Ipanema devices are required
