Ipanema Technologies’ websites will gather information such as what kind of browser visitors are on, what operating system they are using, their IP address, cookie information, time stamp (time page accessed as well as time spent per web page) and their clickstream information (for example, which pages they have viewed and how long they have been there). Note that information is only gathered while the visitor is on the websites. Ipanema Technologies monitors how a visitor arrives at the site, but cannot and will not gather information about other third party sites the user has visited. Ipanema Technologies automatically receives and records such information on our server logs from your browser.
In certain sections of the websites, Ipanema Technologies may invite you to contact us to pose questions, request information, or complete a registration form. We may ask for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to be entered as a means of registration before accessing a certain part of the websites.
“Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) means any information that identifies you personally, including, without limitation, your name, e-mail address, password, login ID and other contact information that you voluntarily submit to us. Visitors of the websites can also choose not to enter any of their Personally Identifiable Information.
Usage of Personally Identifiable Information
When you visit the Ipanema Technologies’ websites, we collect information, including PII that you provide, in order to provide you with the products and services you requested or with offers or promotions that may interest you, service your accounts, and save you time and better respond to your needs.
In the event that you become an Ipanema Technologies’ customer, this PII is not transferred to the client install since the marketing activities undertaken therein are wholly separate from the marketing activities undertaken by Ipanema Technologies.
The websites may track information that will be maintained, used and disclosed in aggregate form only and which will not contain your Personally Identifiable Information e.g., the total number of visitors to our websites, the number of visitors to each page of our websites, browser type, and IP addresses. Ipanema Technologies may analyse this data for trends and statistics in the aggregate, and we may use such aggregate information to administer the websites, track users’ movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
What about Cookies?
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we may transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and tell us how and when pages in our websites are visited and by how many people. Ipanema Technologies cookies do not collect Personally Identifiable Information; however, we may combine the general information collected through cookies with other Personally Identifiable Information in connection with our collection of Individual Site Usage Information.
If you do not wish to have your Individual Site Usage Information collected, most browsers have an option for turning off the cookie feature, which will prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, as well as (depending on the sophistication of your browser software) allowing you to decide on acceptance of each new cookie in a variety of ways.
We may receive a confirmation when you open an e-mail from Ipanema Technologies if your computer supports this type of program. We may also compare our customer list with lists received from other companies, in an effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages to our customers. If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-mail.
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.
We restrict access to personal information to Ipanema Technologies employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
